CPUC Hearings
September/October 2006 Scoping On August 31, 2006, the BLM published its Notice of Intent to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement in the Federal Register (Volume 71, No. 169, page 51848). On September 15, 2006, the CPUC issued a Notice of Preparation/Notice of Public Scoping Meetings for an Environmental Impact Report/Environmental Impact Statement. In early October 2006, the CPUC and BLM held a series of seven public scoping meetings in Imperial and San Diego Counties to take public comment on the scope and content of the environmental document. The scoping comment period ended on October 20, 2006. A Scoping Report (Part 1) was prepared and was sent to all repositories on November 29, 2006. The Scoping Report includes a copy of every letter submitted, as well as transcripts of the public scoping meetings and summaries of issues raised during scoping. A second Scoping Report will be prepared in March 2007, summarizing all comments received (including oral comments made at the Public Meetings on Alternatives). This report will be posted on the CPUC website and copies will be placed in local document repository sites.
CPUC Pre-Hearing Conference, Sept 13, 2006 The CPUC Pre-Hearing Conference on the SDG&E "Sunrise Powerlink" transmission line project was held Wednesday, September 13, 2006, at 4:00 p.m. at the Olive Pierce Middle School, Charles Nunn Performing Arts Center, Ramona.
